Road Trip

Has it been too long since my last post?

Yes.

Am I terrible at keeping this blog updated?

Definitely.

Do I hope to make up for it with this awesome post?

Of course :-)

As some of you may know, we are smack dab in the middle of a road trip. I love road trips. We use to take many of these kinds of trips when I was a kid and so did Brooke. She has fond memories of long naps in the car, and I have memories of assembling some of the finest snap-together models of F-14s that the world has ever seen ;-)

But enough with the past - let's fast forward to today. The trip started last Sunday when we drove north to Billings, Montana. We stayed the night at a friend's house then pointed our nose towards Yellowstone. We had a little more than 2 days to spend there, which isn't nearly enough time to take in all of the pristine sights and sounds. We saw bison, bald eagles, elk, antelope, geysers, hot springs, and lots of French-Canadians. Unfortunately, right in the middle of taking in the majestic bison that roam free all over the road, our littlest ones were battling colds and an ear infection. Traveling with young ones can be a great test of patience. However, nursing two kiddos who are in a strange place, in a strange bed, with colds goes way beyond testing patience. We were inches away from packing up the whole show and driving home through the night on Tuesday. Alas, we decided to ride out the storm and stay. It has been difficult, but we survived and I think that we came out the other end stronger than before.

It was difficult, but we said goodbye to Yellowstone this morning, and set our bearings south. 9 hours later, we arrived at our next destination - Cedar City, Utah. Here, we're going to celebrate my oldest nephew's graduation from High School. This is a super fun time indeed, and I'm glad that we're here to help celebrate. Our future holds many more adventures of swimming, and playing around with ATVs. I can't wait!
